I have a love for music so, when I moved into my new home with a large room in the basement, I immediately had thoughts of building rehearsal/recording rooms. I’ve been in recording studios before and had previously converted part of a garage into a rehearsal room so I had an idea of what I wanted; something that was functional and that was soundproof enough to keep the neighbors from calling or the police from showing up every time we hit a chord.
I know Frank Wickstead of Wickstead Works did home remodeling and had a good reputation, so I called him. I was impressed from the first meeting. He not only understood what I was looking for, he had some great ideas that were going to make it better than I had imagined. The second meeting he brought his crew (electrical, sheet rock, hvac and glass guys). They all had additional great ideas and experience.
The third meeting I got a professional quote, contract and work schedule. The project manager was polite and professional. He also had a thorough understanding of what I was trying to accomplish and was excited about the job.
The work started on schedule and continued on schedule throughout the process. We met each week to discuss progress and made decisions on various components of the project. Great ideas continued and the project improved along the way. Frank and his team were always a phone call away if I had questions or concerns.
As with any project, a few problems arose, but Frank and his staff were quick to respond, accountable and willing to do whatever it took to correct the problem, no questions asked.
The job finished on schedule. As I started using the rooms, there were some minor adjustments necessary, but they were addressed with the same urgency even after I had fully paid for the work.
I’ve got a gorgeous 2 room studio, the neighbors haven’t called, the police haven’t shown up, everything works great (I’ve still got lots to learn about the recording process), it’s perfect in everyway, just like I imagined, thanks to the professionals at Wickstead Works. I fully recommend them and will use them for my next project.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Frank, David, Suzanne and Nonnie. They were creative, smart, thoughtful, and attentive from the get go as well as quickly responsive to problems, even other home problems that occurred during our construction that were unrelated to their work. Throughout they were respectful of my budget, never once conveying any frustration with my financial limits.
I am profoundly grateful to have worked with Wickstead Works and can't imagine working with any other company. I hope they will use me as a reference...plus, I have the BEST basement in Atlanta

Jenny and I are thoroughly pleased with Wickstead’s renovation of
our home. From start-to-finish, they were professional, hands-on and efficient. In talking to others who have undergone similar projects, they were surprised by the amount of weekly progress meetings that were conducted among us to keep us updated regarding our project.
Apparently, other builders aren’t as proactive. Besides, Frank and his team had his work cut out for him as we were expecting our third child concurrent with the completion of our home. He promised we would be back in our house by her birth and we were, two weeks in advance.
We recommend having an introductory conversation with Frank Wickstead regarding any project you’re contemplating. Chances
are, you’ll choose to hire him.

"Frank Wickstead showed great integrity in his attention to detail throughout our entire home renovation process.
He was very timely in responding to our needs; constantly offered
more than one option for both aesthetic and monetary reasons. Our experience was A+ from conception through to the final completion of project.”

To Whom It May Concern,
I was asked recently to explain to a colleague what it was like to work with WicksteadWorks. The request was a valid one, because WicksteadWorks is not a typical company, the people not average, the practices not commonplace.
WicksteadWorks is an exceptional, principled, and high-quality contractor in an industry that has few decent ones. They work hard for their customers, and they set high, yet reachable expectations. The finished product is beautiful.
WicksteadWorks understands the real priorities of the construction business better than anyone else: honesty, clear communication, quality, doing what is promised, and promising only what can be done. From the designers to the sub-contractors to the customers, WicksteadWorks sets the bar and the pace.
I had the good fortune of providing hardwood flooring services to WicksteadWorks in the capacity of a sales and project manager for approximately 2 years. In that time, I watched WicksteadWorks repeat a process of excellence for many customers. In general, a sub-contractor interacts with the owner of the company, owner of the project, designers, on-site supervisors, and laborers. I had that rare glimpse into the entire process, and I could spot inconsistencies in the process, gaps in communication, and failures in quality in a unique way. But, as a WicksteadWorks sub-contractor, I did not deal with problems, but with craftsman & managers fixed on excellence. WicksteadWorks encourages their trade partners to vocalize concerns, and they handle any issue quickly and permanently.
WicksteadWorks pays its vendors on time, which benefits its customers enormously. The practice instills a collective spirit of trust while creating an environment where vendors work extremely hard and carefully to keep WicksteadWorks’ business.
WicksteadWorks’ meticulous attention to detail and process are without equal. They set standards that are clearly communicated to sub-contractors and regularly exceeded for the customer. Their robust knowledge of industry practices makes them the on-site experts that one should expect from a contractor.
Infrequently, I addressed concerns or questions owners had after the construction was complete. These experiences were rare because they were rarely needed. When a contractor is excellent, there is little follow up. The job is done right on the first try.
I actively recommend WicksteadWorks to family, friends, colleagues, and other industry & trade professionals who wish to work with excellence. Whether for WicksteadWorks retail contracting services or for WicksteadWorks’ partnership in providing those services, I encourage anyone of similar dedication to character & quality to engage this company in its entirety.
Sincerely,
—Toby Carr

Dear Frank,
As you know better than anyone, the story of the renovation of our 100 year old Ansley Park home is a very long one, but with a happy ending. Looking back on it, I often can’t believe it is the same house, but then I spy the details of the striking “old bones” of the place and am reminded that she is the same old girl, just better with age, and a fair amount of plastic surgery.
Jim and I are sending you this letter to thank you for helping us to
translate the visions in our head into the design and detail of our “new”
old home. Knowing that our project was a complicated one which would
be executed over “years” not “months”, choosing the right contractor with the right project management skills was critical.
In addition to superior quality of work, we were most concerned about
finding a group of individuals with integrity who we liked and who cared
about our project. We definitely found that with Wickstead. Your straight-forward contract/financial arrangements, our weekly meetings and the quality of the project managers assigned to each phase of our project, reinforced your commitment to honest dealing and commitment to “getting it right.”
I want to particularly thank you for the care and follow-up exercised by your team to insure all the small punch-list details that needed to be coordinated after we moved back in were completed. In particular,
Jim Franklin, who project managed the punch list work, is a credit to
your company. He insured that all these small details were completed
as if he were working in his own home, always insuring we were updated on the status and completion dates and when he would be
at our home.
Please feel free to share our comments with other potential clients. We
have recommended your company to many of our friends. Thanks again
for helping us return our “beautiful old girl” back to her rightful status as
“belle of the ball.”
—Jan and Jim Harralson
When we first started thinking of remodeling our kitchen, I asked friends for recommendations. Most people would say, "I like my kitchen, but..". I can say without any reservation there is "no but" with Frank Wickstead and his company.
The Wickstead weekly meeting approach helps everyone; workers and client, feel secure that the job is being done well and on schedule. Every person who entered our home was professional and courteous. Our kitchen is wonderful and I look forward to another project with WicksteadWorks, Inc.
—Ann Sargent
The wine closet turned out fabulous. We ordered the perfect amount
of pieces for the closets. I want to thank you and your entire staff on a JOB WELL DONE! It was a joy to work with WicksteadWorks, Inc. and I look forward to our next project together.
I also want to say that Lou handled this project to perfection. I appreciated his diligence in getting the job done on time and his patience with my changes, suggestions and at times indecisiveness.
He was terrific and an asset to your company. I look forward to working with WicksteadWorks, Inc. and Lou again. Please do not hesitate to use Skip and me as references when bidding on projects in the future.

Dear Frank,
Thank you for the work you did on our addition. From the planning
stages and through execution, you maintained the height of
professionalism. You appreciated the financial realities of our
situation, and did your utmost to work within them, even finding
lower prices on the web up to the last minute before ordering items.
We always felt comfortable contacting you when we had issues with
the work. You were on top of the situation immediately, and corrected
it as soon as you could.
More than anything else, you were a real "mensch." I don't know how
to translate that exactly here in Georgia, but it means you behaved
honorably as both a professional contractor and as a human being.
The fact that we've referred you to our friends already is a testament to our confidence in your work.
Thanks again for making a challenging experience as smooth as it
could be.
Sincerely,
—Rabbi Michael and Ellie Berger
Frank,
I just wanted to drop you a short note to let you know how much Stevenand I are enjoying the addition that you worked on for us. There is seldom a day that goes by when we don't comment on what a fine job you did.
I particularly remember the long hours Brent spent on getting the arch
from the kitchen to the den just right. That still amazes me. And the
many hours (maybe even days) he spent getting the leak to the garage successfully repaired. And the list goes on and on. He is the best!!
Getting the right people to work for you is key in any business, and you guys obviously found out the secret.
Please send along my best to all your fine folks and thank them all (and especially Brent) for the fine job they did.
Best Regards,
—Michael Ross
Dear Frank,
Now that the final phase of my project is complete, I want to take a
moment to memorialize my appreciation for the excellent work that
you did throughout the effort.
I hope that this letter serves a s a periodic, helpful reminder to you
of the particular skills and talents that one satisfied client saw in you
as well as a letter of recommendation to potential clients.
I am impressed by your ability to keep multiple balls in the air and
to bring complex projects to completion on time and within budget.
Your selection, coordination and management of professional
subcontractors and your attention to detail insured a timely, top
quality result.
Your knowledge of the permitting process and of the proper methods
of handling the governmental employees who manage the process
was crucial to our timely completion of the project. The ability to
construct drawings to satisfy permit requirements is a dimension
that one normally does not find in a general contractor. It was also
apparent to me that you had an appreciation for the aesthetic aspects
of the project.
I appreciated your honesty, forthrightness, and easygoing manner.
You are outstanding at customer relations both before and after
agreement to proceed is reached. This facilitated our discussions
and made me feel comfortable in binging issues forward for resolution.
You reacted promptly and effectively to the few concerns that I had an
and made excellent personnel and process modifications as necessary.
As we all know, errors can happen on these complicated projects.
We had none on my project but a subcontractor did make an error on
the project of the female executive to whom I had recommended you.
She was not only pleased by your readily standing by your work
and having corrections promptly made but also by your timely communications with her on the status of the job throughout the project. She is noted as something of an efficiency expert, so it
should be rewarding to you to know that she called me on numerous occasions to sing your praises.
Frank, you have earned my highest recommendation - unequivocal and enthusiastic. I go out of my way to recommend you to people when I hear that they have a house to build or renovate.
Thank you for everything you did.
All the Best,
—Jim Liewellyn
It isn't often that I have come in contact with someone of your caliber
and character in your business. My experience with you and your subcontractors was most pleasant.
You were honest, expedient, through, a perfectionist in every move
you made during the recent construction of my room addition. You
have continued to stay in contact with my wife and I to ascertain if any problems have arisen since the project completion, which has impressed
us both.
Needless to say, the project turned out flawless and neither of us would hesitate to employ your services again.
Many thanks!
—Alan and Renie Weinstein
